Maryland Public Television Sets New Record with 20 Regional Capital Emmy® Awards

MPT earned a record-breaking 20 Regional Capital Emmy Awards during the 68th Capital Emmy Awards ceremony, the highest total in the network's history.

The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences presented Maryland Public Television (MPT) with 20 Emmys during its 68th Capital Emmy® Awards ceremony at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center on Saturday, June 20. 

Maryland Public Television's record-setting 20  Regional Capital Emmy® Awards, marks the highest number of Emmy honors ever received by the statewide public media network in a single year.

The annual competition recognizes outstanding achievements in television production, documentary filmmaking, public affairs programming, educational content, and digital storytelling across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Historic Achievement for Maryland Public Television

The milestone follows a year in which Maryland Public Television received a record 44 Emmy nominations, underscoring the organization's continued commitment to producing impactful content that educates, informs, and inspires audiences throughout the region.

With this year's recognition, MPT has now earned 249 regional Emmy Awards throughout its history, further solidifying its reputation as one of the Mid-Atlantic region's most respected public media organizations. The network has also received multiple national Emmy Awards, Community Service Awards, and prestigious Board of Governors honors over the years.

After garnering 44 nominations this year, Maryland Public Television earned Capital Emmy Awards in the following categories:
