The film follows Marshall’s journey from Lincoln University and Howard University School of Law to his landmark Brown v. Board of Education victory, which dismantled segregation in America’s public schools. Executive produced by Stanley Nelson and Travis Mitchell and directed by Alexis Aggrey, the film features rare eight-hour oral history recordings in Marshall’s own voice, along with interviews from historians, legal experts, and family members. With original music by Grammy Award-winning composer Derrick Hodge, Becoming Thurgood offers a profound and intimate portrait of the man known as “Mr. Civil Rights.” Don’t miss this special event at the historic Prince George’s Publick Playhouse in Hyattsville, Maryland.
