Students still searching for the right college opportunity received encouragement, financial assistance, and renewed hope during a special scholarship event hosted at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in metro Atlanta.

Leading the effort was Dr. Yolanda W. Page, president of Stillman College, who personally attended the event to present scholarships to 14 students preparing to begin their college careers this fall.
Representatives from Livingstone College also participated, providing scholarship opportunities and admissions support to students who were still seeking the right academic home.
Dr. Page, who has served as president of Stillman College since 2023, emphasized the institution's commitment to expanding access to higher education and ensuring deserving students have every opportunity to pursue their academic goals.

One Students Story of Determination and Community Support
One of the day's most memorable moments involved a young man from Charlotte, North Carolina, who traveled to Atlanta after learning about the scholarship opportunity several weeks earlier. During his trip, his vehicle experienced mechanical problems, leaving him stranded before arriving at the event.
When leaders at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church learned about his circumstances, the church stepped in to provide financial assistance to repair his vehicle, allowing him to continue his educational journey and return home safely.
As the student explored college options closer to home, representatives from Livingstone College were able to meet with him directly and offer guidance and scholarship assistance.
Faith, Education and Opportunity Working Together
The event reflected the power of faith, community, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) working together to ensure that no student is left behind or without a place to pursue higher education. It was a powerful example of the Black church and Black colleges joining forces to create pathways to opportunity, hope, and transformation.
